Professor Joanne St. Lewis celebrates with her first year legislation class, who won the pizza party for their outstanding fundraising efforts this term!

This Year, first year students in University of Ottawa's Common Law program started a unique initiative, the Class of 2008 Community Gift. The class has chosen to help Habitat for Humanity build a house for a local family. The project is desinged to build bridges between the Faculty of Law and the surrounding community, as well as promote awareness of social justice as an integral part of legal education.

Thanks to everyone who helped us launch our campaign in February during the House-in-a-Box Build at city hall. In September, fundraising efforts will enter into full swing, with many more opportunities to become involved.
